School Visit to Deaf Centre

2024/12/4
On 4 December 2024, the Embassy staff had the pleasure of visiting the Deaf Centre in Seychelles to introduce Japanese culture to the students. The Deaf Centre in Mont Fleuri was built and opened in 2022 through the Japanese grassroots assistance project.

At the event, one of our Seychellois staff shared her past experience of living in Nagasaki, Japan as an Assistant English Teacher on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme. We also performed a paper theatre of traditional Japanese folk tales. Students and teachers tried on the traditional Japanese summer wear "Yukata" and enjoyed throwing a quick fashion show.

We are grateful for the warm welcome from the Deaf Centre and happy to see that everyone enjoyed learning about Japanese culture. It was a great opportunity to deepen the friendship between Japan and Seychelles.
