English Rakugo Returns to Seychelles!

The Embassy of Japan in Seychelles is pleased to announce that English Rakugo performances by Kimochi will be held as below. Admission is free.

[1st Show] 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, August 10, 2026
[2st Show] 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2026
[Workshop] 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2026
Japanese Rakugo Performer Kimochi will visit Seychelles from Japan and perform Rakugo in English.
Rakugo is a traditional Japanese form of storytelling in which a lone performer sits on stage and tells a variety of tales, both comic and poignant, by voicing multiple characters, signalled by shifts in posture and the direction of the performer’s look. Mr. Kimochi’s engaging performances were warmly received in Seychelles the last time we organised shows, in February 2025.
