Japanese Bamboo Flute (Shakuhachi) Workshop was held in Seychelles

On 25th February 2026, in collaboration between the Embassy of Japan in Seychelles, the Seychelles Department of Culture, Arts and National Heritage, the Seychelles National Arts and Crafts Council, and the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts (the School of Music) , a workshop of the Japanese traditional bamboo flute Shakuhachi was held at the National Conservatoire of Performing Arts (the School of Music) inviting the Japanese shakuhachi artist Yosuke Irie visiting from Japan. The students and other participants learned and experienced how to play the shakuhachi for the first time. It was a meaningful cross-cultural experience.
