Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai Exchange Reception

On November 13, 2025, the Embassy of Japan organized the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai Exchange Reception at the Ambassador's residence, inviting government officials from the Seychelles delegation, who visited Japan for the National Day of Seychelles at the Expo. The reception was attended by Mr Jean-François Ferrari, former Principal Minister and Minister for Fisheries and Blue Economy, who led the delegation.
At the outset, Ambassador Sakata congratulated the successful conclusion of the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, which provided an opportunity for cultural exchange, including student exchange, between Japan and Seychelles. He then expressed his wish to build on the legacy of the Expo and, with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries approaching next year, expressed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties going forward.
Participants shared their impressions of the warm kindness of the people of Osaka and described their visit to Japan as a valuable experience. They also provided constructive feedback for similar opportunities in the future, making it a meaningful exchange of opinions.
